The Friends of PCBC is a long standing organisation set up and run by old members of the Boat Club. The friends have 3 main aims:

Firstly to keep old members in touch with the people who they rowed with (at what ever standard) whilst at Pembroke. To this end we organise regular fixed social events in both Oxford and London enabling old members to continue the best of boat club social traditions. Secondly to keep old members up to date with the latest rowing news from Pembroke. Twice annually newsletters give our members all the details about events that you just can't get from simply results. As well as Pembroke rowing the newsletters contain all the latest information about PCBC oarsmen and women training with, or racing for, Oxford.

Thirdly and arguably most crucially FPCBC aims to help the Boat Club as much as possible both practically and financially. All donations received are passed on to the boat club either in the form of new equipment or as cash contributions towards essential new equipment. Since 2000 the Friends have purchased 6 new ergs, a new set of blades for the Women's 1st VIII, contributed £4000 towards the Robert Stevens and (hopefully) will shortly be purchasing a new 4+ for the Boat Club.

Hopefully people enjoyed their time rowing for the boat club, The Friends represents an excellent way to both stay in touch with old friends whilst at the same time being able to directly put something back into the boat club.

We do ask for a small contribution from our members but we do not have a minimum amount. As a guide we suggest just £2/month or £25/year but that is just a suggestion. We welcome all contributions, if of course you feel able to give more than that then that would be most welcome and will pass directly to the Boat Club. If you do not feel able to contribute that amount then any contribution will be gratefully received.
