The Pembroke men put in a satisfactory performance at this event which is popular with Oxford colleges. The First Torpid had an uninspired first race, only managing to draw with Oriel, St. Johns and Queens, in a time of 6.23, but had an improved second race, finishing in 6.14, which was the quickest time from an Oxford college, beating our closest rivals, Queens, by 4 seconds, and Oriel by 7 seconds.
The Second Torpid, racing for the first time, put in two gutsy performances and will no doubt gain immensely from the experience. |
